SIGN THE WATERWEALTH DECLARATION on the right side of this page.

We want our political representatives to know that they are expected to stand up decisively for our home waters in the Fraser Valley. Based on what we heard through our surveys and story mapping, we have developed a community declaration that we ask the people of our region to sign.

Please add your signature to the declaration and make your commitment to protect the precious streams, lakes and aquifers of the Fraser Valley. Make your voice count.  THANK YOU.

We all know that pipelines leak, or worse. There should never be movement of these products anywhere near our precious drinking water. A 1% chance of a spill, or leak over our aquifer, or on our world renowned, beautiful ocean inlets, and coastline is too much. Please be responsible with our irreplaceable water. Increased jobs in our Province is not as important as our water, and healthy oceans, and coastline.

Don’t run the pipeline through a citie’s aquafiers…and while you’re at it, hire local workers and pay them a living wage.

Only very stupid or malicious destructive persons would put a pipeline/oil in such a vulnerable place. Also, I have a friend who has worked for years in oil fields around the world, beware if the pipeline materials are outsourced to China- they are extremely poor quality and guaranteed to leak. Overall pipelines are pipe dreams that will lead to both environmental and economic disaster for Canada. ps. check out the big leak into the N. Sask river last summer. The full amount was under reported. Thank you.

Best case scenario – the whole project is cancelled and the government invests in environmentally sustainable energy sources. Second best is to re-route the pipeline, but the problems still exist at the Burrard Inlet and getting super tankers out through our pristine west coast. Bad ideas, all!

Put the money into wind generators, solar power, water turbine generators. The Fraser river has enough energy to power up every hydro need in BC and recharge every electric vehicle.
